St. Agnes

We bring Greetings to you calling the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. As the Lord declares in Jeremiah 29 verse 11, For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. St Agnes guild is moving on full of hope serving God in Churches throughout the Diocese.

2015 – 2016 ACHIEVEMENTS AND CHALLENGES

• Holding of Diocesan Conferences

• Attending and participating at National Conference activities

• Supporting guild members’ weddings

• Fundraising

• Participating in Outreach programmes

Conferences
Blessings and successes are upon the guild as they continue to flourish in numbers as more and more girls are being inducted. Conference time is good as the girls meet once a year to share the word of God and socialise. They have composed a chorus, Aggy wedu uyo huwee kamwe pagore ndiro zuva ratakamirira which shows how committed they are for this day. Conferences are guided by programmes and all girls actively participate.
In 2015 Conference was held at Archdeaconries, The Theme was, Unhu ndiye munhu derived from Proverbs 23 verse 12 – 18 and Sira 22 v 3 – 6. Lessons on various topics were given by different people. Sporting activities were also held.

In 2016 National Conference was held in Harare at St Marys’ Chitungwiza from 21 – 24 April The theme was Arise and Go. Supporting scripture reading was Micah 2 v 10. At national level tree planting was done on Friday followed by clean-up campaign which also adopted theme Arise and Go towards a Clean Environment. Modelling, sports, teachings lessons and choir competitions were done. We would like to thank MU for buying choir uniforms for our choir.

Weddings
Two weddings took place in 2015, Varaidzo Nyika of Chivhu and Peggy Mhlanga of Mvuma tied the note on 15 February 2015 and 03 October 2015 respectively. We thank God who continues to shower his children with blessings. On 16 July 2016VongaiMakota of Masvingo tied the knot while Tafadzwa Nyamazana of Zvishavane will also tie the knot on 03 September 2016. Our beloved sisters have led by example and others are encouraged to follow the same footsteps. Mothers’ Union we thank you for the support and precious gifts you give at weddings.
